Privacy Policy

Effective April 1, 2026 · Last updated September 13, 2026

This page is the publisher’s public privacy and cookie disclosure for thepublishingtimes.com. It is served as ordinary HTML so readers, regulators, and advertising reviewers can read it without running the newsroom application.

The Publishing Times is operated by Taciturn Studios LLC, a Florida limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard information when you visit thepublishingtimes.com (the “Site”).

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide directly. We may collect your name and email address when you subscribe to our newsletter, submit a contact form, post a classifieds listing, send a letter to the editor, or make a purchase. We also collect any content you voluntarily submit to the Site.

Information collected automatically. We collect usage data automatically, including IP address, browser type and version, operating system, pages visited, time spent on the Site, referring URLs, and device identifiers. This data is collected via server logs, cookies, analytics tools, and, on article and content pages, Google AdSense advertising tags.

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to operate and maintain the Site; send requested newsletter and transactional messages; respond to enquiries; process transactions for digital products and classifieds; improve content; detect and prevent fraud and abuse; measure advertising; and comply with legal obligations.

3. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for essential site functions, optional analytics, and advertising on article and content pages. You may withdraw consent by clearing your browser cookies or adjusting browser settings. The Site’s cookie banner records a preference for analytics or essential cookies only.

Essential cookies — always active. Session authentication, shopping-cart state, and security tokens set by thepublishingtimes.com. These are required for the Site to function.

Analytics cookies — only after consent. Google Analytics cookies help us understand which pages are read and how readers arrive. They are not set until you accept analytics cookies.

Advertising cookies (Google AdSense) — used on article and content pages. The Site serves Google AdSense on editorial pages such as blog articles, news desks, and columns. Google and its partners may set cookies or use advertising identifiers to serve, limit, and measure advertisements, including limited or non-personalized ads where advertising storage has not been granted. See Google’s policies at policies.google.com/privacy and policies.google.com/technologies/ads. You may opt out of personalized Google advertising at adssettings.google.com.

Preference storage — your cookie choice is stored locally in the browser under the key tpt_cookie_consent.

A fuller cookie table also appears on our Cookie Policy.

4. Google AdSense

The Publishing Times uses Google AdSense (publisher account ca-pub-1051825252184436) to display third-party advertisements on article and content pages. We do not place the AdSense snippet on the homepage. AdSense may collect or receive device and usage information, cookie identifiers, and page URLs in order to serve ads. Google is an independent controller of the personal data it processes for advertising. We do not sell mailing lists or newsletter addresses to advertisers.

Authorized digital sellers are listed in our ads.txt file: Google is authorized as a direct seller for publisher ID pub-1051825252184436.

5. Third-Party Services

We use third-party services to operate the Site. Each has its own privacy policy:

6. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who assist in operating the Site, subject to confidentiality obligations, and with advertising partners as described above when you visit article or content pages. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Taciturn Studios LLC, our readers, or the public. In a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, information may transfer as part of that transaction.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes in this policy or as required by law. Newsletter subscribers may unsubscribe at any time via the link in any email. Purchased product records are retained for seven years for tax and accounting purposes. Upon a valid erasure request, we will delete or anonymise personal information within 90 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights (GDPR — EEA and UK Residents)

If you are located in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, you have rights under the GDPR including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and objection. Legal bases include contract, legitimate interests, consent (for marketing and non-essential cookies), and legal obligation. See our GDPR Rights page. Contact us via our contact form or at hello@thepublishingtimes.com.

9. Your Rights (CCPA/CPRA — California Residents)

California residents have the right to know, delete, and correct personal information and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising. 10. Security

We implement commercially reasonable technical and organisational measures, including encryption in transit (TLS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

11. AI Chat Assistant

The Site may offer an AI-powered chat assistant for publishing questions. Messages are processed to generate responses. Transcripts may be retained for quality and product improvement and are not sold. A consent notice is shown before the first chat. You may request deletion via the contact form.

12. Children’s Privacy
